Erica has extensive experience working with children, adolescents, and young adults facing challenges such as Anxiety, Depression, Trauma, ADHD, Disruptive/Impulse-Control/Conduct Disorders, and Substance-Related/Addictive Disorders through her work with the Department of Social Services, Department of Juvenile Services, and Baltimore City Public Schools. Erica also brings her expertise to working with adults managing Depression, Anxiety, PTSD, and Bipolar Disorders.

 

​Erica's therapeutic orientation derives from an eclectic approach with emphasis on Humanistic and Existential philosophies to promote self-awareness, trust in self and an inclination toward becoming fully functioning. She utilizes techniques such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Person-Centered Therapy and Gestalt Therapy for individual counseling and systematic approaches for couples and families.

Utilizing evidence-based practices some being Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy, D'Shawn guides individuals, couples, and families toward healing, empowerment, and personal growth. Whether facing school-based challenges, ADHD, relationship issues, or navigating life transitions, D'Shawn is here to support.

Cierra prioritizes holistic, strength-based, client-centered, and trauma-informed care. She integrates mindfulness-based and cognitive-behavioral interventions while applying creative and critical thinking, flexibility, cultural sensitivity, and strong interpersonal skills to meet the needs of individuals and families. With over eight years of experience, she has worked extensively with families and youth facing challenges such as depression, anxiety, life transitions, domestic violence, substance use, and court intervention.

Cierra’s goal is to establish a supportive and trusting relationship while identifying strengths and informal supports to enhance quality of life. By partnering with clients, she strives to help them achieve their goals, develop coping skills, and feel empowered and in control of their lives.
